 The 11th General Assembly of IFWS                   

 The 11th general Assembly of IFWS was held in Kuala Lumpur On 28th and 29th October 2007, under the auspicious of Ms Dato Azalina Bent Othman, the Minister of Youth and Sport of Malaysia.

This assembly was held with attendance of 61 representatives from Ethiopia, Algeria, United Arab Emirate, Afghanistan, Australia, Jordan, Brunei Darussalam, Oman, Iraq, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Sudan, Pakistan, Qatar, Iran, Malaysia, Egypt, Kuwait, Syria, Algeria, and Tajikistan, and also representatives and delegations from international organizations including Global Sport Partner (GSP), Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF), Islamic Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Asian Women Working Group (AWG), International Women Working Group (IWG), and Islamic Azad University.

Islamic Federation of Women Sport in that meeting appreciated the members who have caused improvement of women sports in their countries and have provided development of this federation's activity by their activities under the name of “active members”.

Following the approvals of the establishment of the Referees, Athletes, and Media Committees in the 10th General Assembly on 24-9-2005 in Tehran, the elections for the Chairpersons of these newly established committees were held. Among the introduced candidates Ms Mina Fathi from Iran, Ms Razia Sultana Anu from Bangladesh and Ms Sabrina Sagheb from Afghanistan were elected as the Chairpersons of the Referees, Athletes, and Media Committees respectively.

 

 

Approvals of 11th General Assembly:

 

Electing members of "Jury of Effort Award" according to geographical distributions

-          Determining duties of federation's advisors 

-          Determining calendar of activities of federation in 2008 according to the approvals of committees

-          Approving proposed amendments of some articles of the Statutes

-          Electing chairpersons of 3 new committees

-          Codifying the scheme of holding free groups and club competitions with Islamic Sportswear

-          Codifying bylaw of free groups and club competitions

-          Codifying Guideline of the Islamic Women Sportswear in different disciplines for club competitions

-          Using referees of member countries in Islamic Women Games (Quadrennial, Solidarity and Club competition Games

-          Identifying instructors of member countries in order to enjoy their experiences in training courses of federation
