One of the best environments for the appearance of physical abilities among the professional athletes is the international arenas. Pointing to the wrong models, which are mostly against the Islamic beliefs and religious rules of Muslim Women, the presence of this group in international competitions or even national events was greatly paled.
In this respect, with the great innovation made by the Vice-President of the NOC in Islamic Republic of Iran in the year 1991 (Mrs. Faezeh Hashemi), the acceptance of the President of IOC - Sir El Marques de Samaranch, the kind collaboration of the President of OCA - Sir Sheikh Ahmed Al fahad Al Sabah and also the precious supports made the President of Islamic Republic of Iran - Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, the project for establishing the Islamic Countries Women Sport Solidarity Council was approved in the 2nd session of the Executive Board in the NOC of Iran in the year 1991.
Nowadays, The Islamic Federation of Women Sport (IFWS) is actively working under the objectives of Olympic Movement and organizes different sport competitions for female athletes by paying much attention to the Islamic beliefs; fortifying solidarity among Muslim Women, giving values to the nature of Islam in sport fields, strengthening the Islamic bases, removing any kind of discriminations among people in different levels due to the Islamic lessons. This Federation also emphasis on developing the culture of sport in the globe and pointing to the projects in this Federation, IFWS hold different training courses to improve the general knowledge of sport managers and administrators.
